What is Hospice Care?

Hospice is about the living that goes on during the time between diagnosis of a life-threatening illness and death. Our the goal is to treat the whole person, not the disease. It involves a team approach to expert medical care, symptom and pain management, and emotional/spiritual support tailored to a patient's needs and wishes. Support is also extended to the patient's loved ones.

In most cases, care is provided in a patient's home. However, hospice care is also provided in nursing homes and qualified assisted living facilities.

Grief Support

“As a volunteer I feel a greater appreciation of life itself, a deeper understanding of what’s truly important, and it gives me a true sense of fulfillment.”
